Meet the Team

Eric Schaefer has deep roots in Arizona, graduating from Phoenix Country Day School, followed by Washington University in St. Louis. He served in marketing and leadership roles at Nissan Motor Corporation, Autobytel, and Macromedia. Upon realizing that the corporate world was not for him, Eric came home to Arizona and joined Schaefer + Associates, LLC in 2002. His first day on the job involved digging holes for real estate signs in the sweltering heat of a Phoenix summer, and over the subsequent 20+ years he subsequently learned the business “from the ground up!” Eric has led the company through the rapid expansion of its property management portfolio throughout Arizona.

Don Schaefer is a graduate of Washington University in St. Louis. Upon graduation, he became a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and was associated with one of the largest international accounting firms.

He applied his strong financial background to the real estate development and construction industry as Executive Vice President and Treasurer of a large design/build general contractor and real estate developer with offices throughout the Midwest. After developing property in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Missouri , Ohio and Oklahoma, Don formed his own company, a predecessor to Schaefer + Associates, LLC.

While in college at Northern Arizona University, Mike Abrams, CPM® took a summer job working at Cornwell, a Scottsdale-based real estate firm, where he learned the development side of the business. Upon graduation, Mike continued his real estate career by learning property management and real estate development through management of the Cornwell portfolio for over 15 years. This gave him a unique inside into real estate management through the lens of an owner. He managed development projects throughout the Valley and obtained his CPM® designation. Mike later joined Case, Huff & Associates Inc., a property management company, where he spent seven years as a senior property manager fine tuning his third-party property management skills. He joined Schaefer + Associates, LLC in 2019, where he is the Director of Property Management. Mike is an integral part of the management team and has helped to enable Schaefer + Associates, LLC to grow over the past four years. Fun Fact: Mike is an avid outdoorsman and can frequently be found doing archery, and kayaking on the Arizona lakes.

Kathy Hill joined Schaefer + Associates in 2021 in the role of Property Manager. Originally from the Pacific Northwest, Kathy moved to Arizona in 2001. She has managed nearly every type of commercial property throughout her 35+ years of experience in California and Arizona. Having worked for some of the largest property management companies in Arizona, Kathy has brought with her a wealth of experience and savvy. She has dealt with nearly every situation that could possibly arise at a commercial property, so it’s impossible to throw her a curveball. Fun Fact: Kathy builds doll houses with amazing levels of intricacy and detail and swears this is a totally normal hobby.
